New York, NY — On March 23rd, 2016, the NSA surprised 200 kids from Upper Manhattan with toys to children from the Alianza program, which is a part of Catholic Charities.
The logistics of the distribution was organized by the NSA team, led by its President Rudy Fuertes, David Corona, Johnny Urena, Alex Guzman and his family, the NSA staff as well as Javier Fuertes who was also joined by his wife.
In addressing the children, NSA President Fuertes expressed that "this afternoon we want to make sure you know we care for you. We want you to continue doing good at home, school and here in the program as well. We would also like to thank Ms. Luz and her team at Catholic Charities for making this possible."
The children also enjoyed lunch after grabbing their toys.
"We are very grateful to the NSA for thinking of us for this special initiative. On behalf of the kids, we thank you," stated Luz Tavarez on behalf of Catholic Charities.
This was the first stop of five. The NSA has partnered with Catholic Charities to distribute toys to 1,000 children from New York City and Long Island. This is an initiative of NSA Cares, which seeks to highlight the NSA's commitment to their communities.
Thank you to all the sponsors and NSA Members for making this possible!
